This Is My Story!
It all started at mommy's job when she had a slim
fast bar and some pickles. Later on that day, she had
gotten sick and her boss told her that she was pregnant.
She told him to quit playing around but then her chest
started to hurt.
After work on March, 30 1999 she took a pregnancy
test and found out she really was. She did not believe it,
so she took another one. She lived with her friend at the
time. After she found out for sure she ran into her
friend's room and she jumped on her bed and started
crying. She settled down then called Grandma, and mommy
cried again. Grandma was upset for a little while but
eventually got over it.
The next day mommy went to a clinic just to see
if the tests were right. They confirmed that she was
having a baby. When she got home she called her doctor's
office and made an appointment. April 7, 1999, my mommy
finally believed that I was going to be born. She was
scared but also very happy. When she left the doctors she
made sure she called everybody she knew to tell them. My
aunts already knew but she had to call all of her
friends.

April 13th she had to go back. She had a sonogram
done and her doctor thought he saw two heartbeats. So he
told her to come back in another week to let another
doctor see. The other doctor said he saw the same thing.
So mommy thought she was having twins at that point and
she was scared. She knew my father would not be there but
mommys boyfriend and family would have
been.
Mommy had a really great boyfriend and I know he
is an excellent daddy to me. My sperm donor wanted mommy
to have an abortion because he already had one baby but
she told him no and he did not need to be a part of it.
His grandmother and mommy talked and she was a big part
while she was pregnant.

A month later mommy had another sonogram done and
it showed only one heartbeat. They say I pushed the other
one back up and they call it my invisible twin. Now it is
time to tell my Grandfather, yes he did not know about me
yet. Mommy wanted to see if she was having twins first.
After her doctors appointment on May 4, she went to my
Grandmas work and Grandpa happened to be there. Mommy told
him and he thought she was kidding. Mommy told him that
she wasn't and then she left.
Everybody knew that she would be a great mom, she
loves kids. So Grandpa got over it and was no longer mad
at her.
While mommy was pregnant she heard my heartbeat
loud and I just loved to kick her. Sometimes I got some
really bad hiccups. I just loved to move around. Mommy
thought that I never slept. I was so strong mommy even
thought I was going to kick my foot through her little
belly. She loved to see me kick and move. She watched
every moment that I moved. She even kept a mother-to-be
book. She knew when I kicked for the first time and every
time after that. She had some night sickness but never in
the morning. She was moody though and still gets that
way.

On September 29, I had a cousin born and after
mommy saw him, she wanted me to come out. She had to wait
though. On October 16, mommy had a baby shower. She got
everything she needed. My Grandmother spoiled her and so
did mommys Aunt Betty and mommys sisters. All of mommys
other aunts got her special stuff.
My due date was getting closer and mommy was
getting nervous but mommys boyfriend Buff was with her the
whole time. He was not even the father, but he is still
very special to me. My mommys best friend, London was with
her too. That is where mommy was living. They kept mommy
calm. London was always making jokes on how fat mommy was.
She only weighed 98lbs before I came along. She went up
to about 125 or a little bit bigger.

On November 18, she went into the hospital
because she was having contractions. Mommy was 3cm
dilated. She thought for sure, they would let her have me.
Being her first child though, the head nurse said not to
induce her. Mommy blames her a little bit because one
doctor said to induce me but the nurse insisted on making
mommy have me on her own. They sent mommy home. She was in
so much pain so they gave her some pain medicine. Mommy
thinks it made me relax.
On November 22, Mommy went to her doctors
appointment and mommy heard my heartbeat loud and clear.
She was only 3 cm dilates, so they sent her home again.
November 23, Mommy woke up and I kicked her one good time.
That was it. Mommy started getting worried later on that
night and she told Buff and London that she needed to go
to the hospital. They told her to call and she did. The
hospital told her to drink coke and lay down. Mommy said
no way. She was going to the hospital now. Mommy started
to cry, she knew something was wrong but Buff said nothing
was wrong but go and see. So London and mommy drove to the
hospital where they put the monitors on my
belly.

At first the nurse thought she had the heartbeat
but then she lost it. Another nurse tried and nothing. So
they tried the sonogram machine and that is when mommy saw
no heartbeat and they told mommy I was gone. The same
nurse that said not to induce me is the one that told her.
Mommy was angry at her but then she went into shock. All
she wanted was our family and Buff. Grandma was called
first. She was at work and when she heard that I was gone
she sped to be with mommy. Mommy was so happy to see her.
London and Grandma called everybody else that mommy wanted
there. Everybody came to be by mommys side. It was now
time to move mommy in another room on a different floor
where she could not hear any babies cry.
Mommy wanted her doctor there but he was off that
day. Mommy told them she would not deliver for anybody
else. They called my doctor and he came just for me. He
had somewhere to go the next day but did not go so that he
could deliver me. He told my Grandparents what could of
caused it but they had to wait and see when I was born to
be sure. Mommy really wanted a c-section but her doctor
told her no because she did not need the scars to remember
this.

Mommy agreed and had me the naturally. She got
herself prepared because it was all up to her. When she
started pushing my Grandma was on one arm and Aunt Betty
on the other. Everybody was crying but mommy pushed until
I came out. They all knew I would cry but nothing. They
knew I was born at 1:35 p.m. I had wrapped myself up in
the umbilical cord. It was very long and I had it around
my neck, belly, arms and legs.
Mommy chose not to have an autopsy because she
could not put me through that. Mommy was in shock and was
shaking real bad so she did not hold me right away. After
I was cleaned up it was time for her to hold me. Mommy
cried and was still shaking. They took so many pictures
and everybody held him. Mommy had to take me back. Grandma
and mommy got to stay with me all night because the
funeral people could not pick me up until the next day.
Mommy stayed up all night crying and holding me. I slept
on her chest all night.

The next morning was Thanksgiving, Grandma woke
up and took some pictures of me and mommy saying our
good-byes. They came and got me and mommy was ready to
leave. It was so hard she had to plan my funeral now.
November 30 was the funeral. It was the worst day in
mommys life. She was saying her good-byes for now. They
had an open casket, a lot of people showed up. Mommy did
not leave my side. She asked to hold but they said no so
she insisted one more time. They shut the curtains and
mommy got to hold me. The reverend said a few things and
said psalm 23 for mommy. It was mommys grandmother's
favorite verse. Then it was time for everybody to say
their good-byes to me. Mommy went up after everybody but
my Grandma and Grandpa and Tre's father and gave me a big
kiss. She told me that she loved me and reminded me that
she will never forget me.
My uncle carried my little casket and went to
where I was being buried, Mt. Moriah cemetery. I was
buried on top of mommys grandfather but I am with mommys
grandmother too. It makes mommy feel really good that her
aunts, uncles and dad laid me to rest on top of their
parents.

Mommy knows that I will always be with her and
that I am being very well taken care of. I love you
mommy.
